Activities in Bristol and beyond this summer
Bristol and the surrounding areas are full of events and activities which are taking place over the summer break. Here are just a few of the organisations that we know of that are organising summer activities which you might like to investigate for your autistic girl:
Gympanzees are holding a Summer Pop-Up at SGS Pegasus School in Patchway, from now until 19 August. They have various types of sessions for different needs.
Incredible Kids are holding additional sessions on Mondays and Thursdays in Patchway, as well as their usual Friday & Saturday sessions in Lockleaze – see their events page to book. (you will need to join as a member first).
Extraordinary Links are holding their usual Wednesday afternoon sessions throughout the summer in Shirehampton, and occasionally organise trips during the summer. Please see their website for details.
Special Friends organise trips throughout the summer - details are on their website.
Jigsaw, Thornbury have various sessions available this summer (you will need to join as a member first).
Nothing Special – Events for teens are advertised in their Facebook Group .
There are also a couple of lists on the Bristol Autism Support website which may be useful - of play activities and of clubs and groups.
Non-SEND specific activities for children this summer:
Westonbirt Arboretum – kids go free this summer. There is plenty to explore and various trails to follow as well.
Children’s Scrapstore – as well as holding events at the scrapstore itself, there are various craft activity days around the city.
Bristol Museums are free to visit and often have events over the school holidays.
Planet Ice, Bristol have all-day skating sessions during the school holidays:
The Mall at Cribbs Causeway has a ‘beach’ which is free and has some shade too. There is also an ice cream van nearby to buy yourselves some treats!
Whatever you choose to do this summer, we hope that you have a good one!
