The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • Details of children / young people accessing our services, including areas of interest, to enable us to tailor our services to the specific children attending our activities.

  • General technical data: includes your internet protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform and other technology on the devices you use to access our website.

  • We may use ideas and information from posts or comments on this website or our Facebook group in order to help others. However, these will be used anonymously with no identifying information.

Special personal information

Special personal information is data about a person’s race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about their health and genetic and biometric data. It also includes information about criminal convictions and offences.

Any special personal information is only collected when required and with consent provided.

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • To contact us via our website with an enquiry

  • To contact us via or post on our Facebook business page

  • To join or interact within our parents’ support group on Facebook

  • To register your daughter’s interest in one of our in-person groups for children and young people

  • To register your interest in joining one of our parent support groups

We use the information that you have given us in order to provide you with information or signpost to appropriate sources of support, or to support you or your family in one of our support groups or courses. By providing us with your details to register interest in one of our support groups, you are entering into a contract with us which enables us to use the data provided in order to fulfil our contractual obligations.

We may share this information with organisations we partner with, e.g. Mudpies Explorers CIC and Murmuration Community Therapy, in order for us to provide you with services and support you have registered an interest in, such as our children’s groups or parent support groups and courses. Please contact these organisations for more information about their data processing policies.


Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

  • Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting or by post as above.

  • We have a contractual obligation.

  • We need it to perform a public task.

  • We have a legitimate interest.


Information relating to your method of payment

Payment information is never taken by us or transferred to us either through our website or otherwise. Our employees, contractors and volunteers never have access to it.

At the point of payment, you are transferred to a secure page on the website of PayPal or some other reputable payment service provider. That page may be branded to look like a page on our website, but it is not controlled by us.


How we store your personal information

All personal data is held in a safe and secure manner. Appropriate technical and organisational matters are taken to ensure that data is stored behind appropriate levels of security. We use Zoho CRM to store personal data. Details of this organisation’s privacy policy can be found here:

Retention period for personal data

Except as otherwise mentioned in this privacy notice, we keep your personal information only for as long as required by us:


  • to provide you with the services you have requested;

  • to comply with other law, including for the period demanded by our tax authorities;

  • to support a claim or defence in court.


We will also collect any personal data you give us if you sign up to receive our newsletter (see Newsletters below). We will only collect and use your personal data in this way if:

  • you have given your consent; or

  • it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests.

We use a third party, MailChimp, to deliver our email communications. Mailchimp will only use your personal data in accordance with our instructions. If you want to find out more about MailChimp, you can view their privacy notice here: If you consent to receive email newsletters from us, we will add your name and email contact details to our marketing database and we will share this information with MailChimp in order to send the emails to you.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

  • Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
